類大綱
Class Syllabus
This
course will study the Chinese language using Mei Zhou Chinese study materials
and Chinese culture through arts, crafts, music, dance and observing
traditional Chinese holidays.
At
the end of this course, you will:
- learn approximately
84 to 120 core Chinese characters
- be able to recognize
168 to 240 related Chinese phrases
- understand basic
Chinese grammar to construct appropriate sentences
- read passages based on learned vocabulary
NEEDS AND RESOURCES:
Required Background
To successfully complete this course, you
will:
- learn the Chinese
characters presented
- be able to pass both
oral & written proficiency testing
- understand Chinese dialogue presented by native speakers
Required Materials
To successfully complete this course, you will need Mei Zhou Chinese Level 3 Traditional Characters textbook and workbook.

COURSE SCHEDULE
Our
first semester starts on Saturday, August 29, 2015, from 9am to 12 noon. The semester concludes Saturday,
December 12, 2015. Our PTA meeting
is September 19th. The
midterm is October 24, 2015. There
are no classes scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend, Saturday, November 28,
2015. The final exam is December
12, 2015.
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
General
Rules:
Please
have your child attend classes regularly, promptly and with all required
materials. Students will conduct
themselves in an appropriate manner.
Please refer to the Miami Chinese Language School Rules &
Regulations on the school website for further clarification.
Grading
Policies:
Students
will be graded weekly on new vocabulary words and phrases. Written homework will also be
assessed. Oral homework will be
given periodically either through in class work or online recording. Midterms and Final exams will be given
each semester.

90-100
B:
80-89
C:
70-79
D:
60-69 Final
Passing Grade must be 70% or above.
